Amelan-R Mask is effective in treating dark spots caused by excess melanin production. It acts on the cells that produce melanin (melanocytes) by reducing their activity, thereby reducing the intensity of brown spots.
Generally, a single session is enough to achieve a clear improvement in melasma (pregnancy mask), pigmented scars and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. However, it is essential to prolong the effectiveness of the treatment with regular home applications of skin-lightening creams, supplied after the treatment.

During the session
An Amelan treatment plan generally begins with a preparatory peel such as mandel. Next, the Amelan product, which looks like a beige paste, is applied in a thick layer to the areas to be treated; the application time is 4 to 8 hours.
Once the mask has been cleaned, a home care protocol must be scrupulously followed. This ensures a continuous depigmenting action, with the spots gradually fading during the treatment. It also has a regulating effect, reducing melanin synthesis and acting on the origin of hyperpigmentation.
Results
You will start to see the first signs of skin lightening after 2 to 3 weeks. It is essential to follow the dermamelan method in its entirety, in order to guarantee greater depigmenting efficacy, greater comfort and reduce the risk of repigmentation.

Pre-treatment precautions
- During the 6 weeks preceding the Amelan peel, it is important to prepare the skin with the creams suggested by the therapist.
- At least 3 weeks before treatment, avoid all UV exposure (sun, solarium, self-tanning) and protect yourself effectively with a 50+ sunscreen.
- Stop using creams containing glycolic acid, retinoids and benzoylperoxide at least 3-4 days before applying the mask.
- If you have a personal history of herpes labialis (cold sore), you must undergo oral anti-herpetic preventive treatment.
Post-treatment precautions
- Avoid all sources of excessive heat for 24 to 48 hours
- Do not wash the treated area for 12 hours
- Do not pull on flaky skin, if present
- Avoid all exposure to UV rays: apply a 50+ sunblock and wear a cap.
- It is essential to attend the follow-up appointments set by the therapist during the first 2-3 months post-treatment. The success of Amelan® R treatment depends on the interaction between patient and therapist.
