After cleansing the skin, the practitioner applies the AviClear laser to the affected areas. The sensation is generally described as slight heat, and a built-in cooling system helps to minimise discomfort.

A complete treatment consists of a series of three non-invasive sessions lasting approximately 1 hour. Three AviClear sessions are recommended for optimum results, as one square centimetre of skin contains around 900 sebaceous glands. Clinical studies have shown that one or two sessions are not enough to effectively target and reduce the majority of sebaceous glands, making a third session necessary to achieve the desired results.
